Inspiring women.

Beryl Markham first Kenyan woman to fly.

Did you know the first woman to fly was from Kenya? Right! yes.
I was pleasantly surprised as well. Her name Beryl Markham, she was born in London, her father moved the family to Kenya in 1904 when Beryl was 2. Beryl was a pioneer from the get go, she was the first female horse trainer and later pioneering aviatrix.  Apparently Isak Dinesen (Out of Africa author). was an acquaintance,  I find this fascinating because I can picture, colonial Kenya through the film out of Africa, and imagine how life must have been for Beryl.

She also wrote a memoir West with the Night, which was released in 1983, forty years after its publication.

"A life has to move or it stagnates. Even this life, I think. Even tomorrow ought to not resemble every yesterday." - Beryl Markham

As millennials  we can do even more. Go out there and follow your dreams there is opportunity every where. Life is about taking chances. I completely understand that small voice that tells you, you might fail, but what if you Fly!
